Family Cruise
Celebrating Love, Birthdays & Making Memories
π’π΄
Some trips are about exploring new places, while others give us a chance to celebrate the people and blessings in our lives. Our family cruise to the Bahamas was a little bit of both! We visited three beautiful Bahamian islands, enjoyed sunshine and delicious food, met wonderful people, and spent quality time together away from our usual routine.
This cruise was especially meaningful because we were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and both of our birthdays! It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our marriage, make memories with our daughter, and enjoy a little adventure together.
Exploring Three Bahamian Islands π΄
The Bahamas felt like a little piece of paradise, with turquoise water, tropical scenery, and beautiful beaches. One of our favorite experiences was snorkeling together. Seeing so many colorful sea creatures swimming around us was amazing! We spotted a crab, lots of striped yellow fish, and even some big, bright blue fish that reminded our daughter of Dory from Finding Nemo. Ha! π π Experiences like these make family travel so special. We get to explore new places, try new things, and see the world through our daughter's eyes.
Celebrating 10 Years of Marriage ❤️
Ten years of marriage is certainly something to celebrate! Although our wedding anniversary was a couple of months before the cruise, celebrating during our trip made it feel extra special. Marriage is about so much more than anniversaries. It's about growing together, supporting one another through life's different seasons, laughing and dancing together, and building a life and family one day at a time.
My husband and I come from different countries, and over the years, we've created a life filled with our own traditions, experiences, and adventures. Our different backgrounds have become part of the story of our family, and I'm thankful for the life we've built together. I'm especially grateful to God for the blessing of our marriage and for opportunities to slow down, enjoy each other's company, and celebrate a decade together somewhere beautiful. Ten years have brought plenty of memories, lessons, and growth. I'm looking forward to seeing what adventures the next ten years will bring!
Two Birthdays, One Celebration! π
Here's a fun fact about us: My husband and I share the exact same birthday! He's just a little older than me. π My husband always says he'll never forget my birthday. Ha! π Celebrating our birthdays during the same trip as our wedding anniversary (we planned it this way) made the cruise even more memorable. Instead of celebrating on separate occasions, we got to enjoy all these milestones together.
Family Cruise Fun: Duck Hunting, Dancing & Unlimited Ice Cream πΊππ§π¦π¦
One of the best parts of our cruise was having uninterrupted family time. No cell phones, no internet, and no usual daily routines to worry about....just time to enjoy being together. We danced, laughed, swam, ate way too much, and enjoyed a break from everyday life. Our daughter especially loved the unlimited ice cream! π¦But, ice cream wasn't her only favorite activity. We discovered the fun tradition of cruise duck hunting!
If you've never heard of cruise duck hunting, passengers hide small ducks all around the ship for other cruisers to discover. There was even a duck exchange box on our floor where cruisers could leave one duck and take another. Our daughter would run down there several times a day to see what new ducks she could find or trade. Ha! π Our room steward surprised our daughter with extra ducks too. We even attended a duck exchange event. Who knew rubber ducks could provide so much entertainment on a family cruise? These little unexpected traditions are part of what makes traveling with a child so memorable. Sometimes it's the simplest activities that become the stories everyone remembers long after the vacation ends.
Thankful for Family, Faith & the Journey π
As a Christian, I'm reminded that some of life's greatest blessings aren't things we can buy. They're the people we love, the time we share, and the experiences that bring us closer together. Ecclesiastes 3:12-13 reminds us to rejoice, do good, and enjoy the fruits of our labor as gifts from God. That message feels especially meaningful when I think about the time we spent together on this trip. Ten years of marriage, shared birthdays, three beautiful islands, and one very happy ice-cream-loving, duck-hunting daughter made this a family cruise we'll always treasure.
